The High Court has consented to hear the request of a Muslim police constable, wherein he has raised the issue of being suspended for keeping facial hair on the job. He was suspended from the gig for keeping facial hair working, against which he recorded a request and fought whether doing so is an infringement of the major right to rehearse religion under the Constitution.
Article 25 of the Constitution manages opportunity of soul and the option to openly accept, practice and proliferate religion. A seat of Boss Equity D.Y. Chandrachud, Equity J.B. Pardiwala and Equity Manoj Mishra consented to think about the issue.
This request was of a Muslim constable of the Maharashtra State Save Police Power (SRPF). He was suspended for keeping facial hair, which was an infringement of the Bombay Police Manual of 1951. At the point when CJI Chandrachud was informed that the matter is in Lok Adalat and has not been settled at this point, he said, 'This is a significant issue of the Constitution...
